Needles and syringes require proper disposal. Used needs are a biohazard, and they must be discarded in a red sharps container. These containers should not be tossed in the daily trash. North Jefferson County Ambulance District offers a drop-off station that allows Jefferson County residents to properly dispose of these containers.
